Academics’ teaching agency in Birmingham started business in September 2016, with a team of experienced and new consultants. Our Birmingham teaching agency has made a great start, quickly building a strong reputation with Supporting Primary, Secondary and SEN Schools. In our Brindley Place office we host regular SEN Best Practice meetings where Head, Deputies and SENCO’s from Schools across the West Midlands attend to network and share best Practice. This has been a fantastic way to recognise the local areas specific SEN needs and better place our Specialist SEN TA’s. Our day to day and long term teaching business is thriving, with Schools recognising our attention to detail and excellent customer service. With an ever growing team, we will continue to grow and continue to offer the best support possible for both our excellent candidates and schools. Ashley Trunley Ashley Trunley

Ashley joined Academics as an experienced Primary Consultant, previous to Academics Ashley had his own Recruitment Company with his Brother in London. Since marrying his lovely wife Harriet, Ashley has relocated to her home town of Burbage, Leicestershire. Ashley is originally from Braintree, Essex, and started his career in Education Recruitment over 5 years ago after a long stint in Australia. Ashley is a keen cook, and has a real passion for textiles. On a weekend you can often find Ashley baking, knitting  or working on a new cross stitch pattern at his Leicestershire home.

Jayde Stanley Jayde Stanley

Jayde is a new consultant on the Academics primary team, and enjoys the challenges and diversity this role brings. She prides herself on building relationships with her clients and candidates in order to gain a better understanding of their recruitment needs and requirements.

Jayde has recently returned to Birmingham after spending the last three years in Australia and New Zealand where she found a passion for hiking and photography.

Wayne Barrett Wayne Barrett

Wayne has been involved in Education recruitment for the last 3 years. Working for Balfour and Glow Recruitment. Wayne Specialises in Secondary Education, working with Secondary Schools across Birmingham and Solihull, he takes great pride in his work and does it with the upmost enthusiasm. Wayne has a passion for his home town of Birmingham, promoting local events, coaching local football teams and Wayne also moonlights as a Youth Scout for West Bromwich Albion on the look out for the next Wayne Rooney or Kelly Smith. Wayne has an 18 year old son who is his pride and joy, following him round the country to support him with his aspiring football career with Birmingham City football club. Abigail Hughes Abigail Hughes

Abi is a Secondary Consultant working at Academics Birmingham. Her role involves liaising between candidates and schools within Coventry and Warwickshire. As a recent Psychology graduate from Birmingham University she has gained a range of experience working with children and young people developing an understanding of the challenges faced  within schools. Her background in swimming and as a coach has given her a competitive edge, leading to her involvement in sporting events such as the Birmingham Half Marathon. Abi is a keen traveller, always looking for new experiences and most importantly, new food to indulge in.

Shabnam Farooq Shabnam Farooq

Shabnam previously worked at Hays Education and joined Academics as a Resourcer in August 2016. Shabnam’ background is in Education with over 10 years experience in school and Early Year’s settings. Shabnam has recently got engaged and planning for the big wedding in Lahore this April 2017. Shabnam has now taken up going to the gym with her gym buddy Abi.

Will Berritt Will Berritt

Will relocated from London to Birmingham to start up the Birmingham office in June 2016, working within education recruitment for 4 years, Will has already managed and run a successful education recruitment team and is looking to do the same in Birmingham. Will was born and raised in Sunny Margate, Kent until joining the Army at 19 years old, where he served for 6 years. Out of work Will enjoys sports including Football and Golf... a big Tottenham Hotspur fan and the fact he believes Tottenham will win the Premier League in the next 5 years shows how much of an optimist he is!
